General Motors to Restore Production, Jobs By Erik Even  |  Dated: 08-18-2009
gm_160x120General Motors will add 60,000 cars and trucks to its North American production schedule, and reinstate 1,350 jobs

The new cars will be produced during Q3 and Q4, at plants in Ontario, Canada and Lordstown, Ohio.

The company says demand is up for the Chevy Cobalt compact car and the Chevy HHR retro-styled compact station wagon.

General Motors Corporation is a global automaker founded in 1908, with headquarters in Detroit, Michigan. It is the world’s second-largest automaker after Toyota, ranked by 2008 global unit sales. GM was the global sales leader for 77 consecutive calendar years from 1931 to 2007.
