Geico Hiring 500 in New York State

Insurer Geico will add 500 new jobs at its Amherst, New York operations center. A new Geico subsidiary will handle calls and questions concerning its home insurance and liability packages.The Amherst Industrial Development Agency and the Empire State Development Corporation are offering Geico job creation incentives.
Over the next decade, Geico will add 500 jobs to the Amherst center, which currently employs 2,000.
The Government Employees Insurance Company, aka GEICO, is an American auto insurance company. Chevy Chase, Maryland-based GEICO is a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, that as of 2007 provided coverage for more than 10 million motor vehicles owned by more than nine million policy holders. GEICO writes private passenger automobile insurance in the District of Columbia and in all 50 states.
