Coke Plant to Shut Down; 60 NY Jobs Lost

A Coca Cola Bottling plant in Rochester, New York will stop production in November, leaving 57 manufacturing workers jobless.About 120 sales and distribution workers will remain.
Founded in 1886, Atlanta’s Coca-Cola Company sells its signature carbonated soft drink in more than 200 countries. Originally intended as a patent medicine when it was invented in the late 19th century by John Pemberton, Coca-Cola was bought out by businessman Asa Griggs Candler, whose marketing tactics led Coke to its dominance of the world soft-drink market throughout the 20th century.
