The Justice Department is directing more than $12 million in stimulus funds to the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia, to create or preserve 50 law enforcement jobs.
The money comes from the Community Oriented Policing Services program, or COPS. The city received the largest allowed grant, due to high crime and rampant unemployment in the capitol.
Nationally, COPS is spending $1 billion to create or save 4,700 law enforcement jobs.
What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
