Payson, Utah to Lay Off City Workers

The City of Payson, Utah will eliminate 11 positions, five of them through layoffs, over the next two years, due to cuts in its fiscal 2010 budget.

Positions will be cut in the maintenance, streets, landfill and planning & zoning departments.

Payson is a city in Utah County, Utah. It is part of the Provo–Orem Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 12,716 at the 2000 census. The mayor is currently Thomas “Burtis” Bills.
