Pajaro Valley Schools Cut 222 More Jobs

California’s Pajaro Valley School District is cutting 222 jobs this week.

The custodians, school secretaries and other classified staff will join the nearly 200 teachers laid off earlier this month..

The district expects to lose another $600 per student, or $11 million, in upcoming budget cuts.

Hours for school secretaries have been trimmed to 3.5 hours a day, resulting in the loss of 32 jobs.
