Iceberg, Penguin Freeze Out Workers

Penguin LLC and sister company Iceberg Enterprises plan to cut 150 of the 250 jobs at a manufacturing facility in Sturgis, Michigan and at a warehouse in Howe, Indiana.

Employees in Sturgis were told this week of the planned cuts, which take effect in May. The firms are in trouble because a contract with a major customer wasn’t renewed.

Penguin’s services include blow molding, injection molding, metal fabrication and powder coating. Iceberg Enterprises markets products to office product distributors.
