Siemens Energy & Automation will shut down its circuit-breaker plant in Urbana, Illinois a year earlier than expected, a move that will result in the loss of 174 jobs by the end of July.
The plant makes circuit breakers and related parts for commercial and industrial use. It has been operating since the 1950s.
The Georgia-based company originally planned to keep the plant running until mid-2010.
Spokesperson Michael Krampe says the work will be sent to a plant in Monterrey, Mexico.
What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
