The jobs of 40 employees at Crowley Holdings Inc. in Jacksonville, Florida will be moving to El Salvador within the next 15 months.
The employees will have the opportunity to find a job within the Jacksonville office, another company office or take early retirement, said Crowley spokesman Mark Miller. The affected employees work in the company’s customer and freight service divisions.
“It’s also more cost-effective,” said Miller.
Jacksonville-based Crowley Holdings Inc., a holding company of the 117-year-old Crowley Maritime Corporation, is a privately held family and employee-owned company that provides diversified transportation and logistics services in domestic and international markets by means of six operating lines of business: Puerto Rico/Caribbean Liner Services, Latin America Liner Services, Logistics Services, Petroleum Services, Marine Services and Technical Services.
