School board agrees $3 million in cuts, with no layoffs

- Western Placer Unified School District board voted to approve recommended budget reductions, according to News Messenger reports. According to Lopes, the district used “a balanced approach to budget cuts, which includes spending fund balances and “utilizing other funds for facility and equipment upkeep. The school board needs to take a look at how the school library was basically gutted at the direction of the district’s library head honcho.
