Summary:

The Office of

Animal Resources (OAR) welcomes applications for a Facility Manager. OAR provides routine and specialized care for a

wide variety of species of laboratory animals, which are used by scientists for

biomedical research and education in the Schools of Psychology, Biology, MCDB,

Bioengineering, Integrated Physiology and Behavioral Genetics at the University

of Colorado, Boulder. The Facility Manager provides hands-on oversight and

management of the daily operations of the Animal Facility in accordance with

regulatory and University of Colorado, Boulder standards.  The Facility Manager reports to the

Operations Manager and works closely with the other facility managers, as well

as the other members of the Management Team, IACUC, Occupational Health and

FacMan to ensure that OAR is running appropriately and is in compliance with

regulatory agencies. The Facility Manager has supervisory responsibilities over

all Animal Husbandry positions operating in the Animal Facility.

support for the research and teaching missions of the University of Colorado,

Boulder. The highly dedicated and experienced OAR staff is committed to the

health and well-being of laboratory animals, student and investigator training,

and technical service.

 

What your key responsibilities will be:

The OAR

Be Boulder.','!*!What we require: Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology, or a Bachelor’s of Science degree in a related field.AALAS LATg certification required within one year of hire.  What you will need: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.  Exceptional written and verbal communication. Highly organized and attentive to detail. Efficient and thorough problem solving skills. Demonstrated time management skills. Basic mathematical skills. What we’d like you to have: ILAM certificate. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an animal research setting.
